Our approach
Seven generations ahead
Have you ever tried to imagine what the world will look like for your great-grandchildren? We have, every day.
Our philosophy is rooted in the Seven Generations Principle, a concept originating from the Iroquois - Haudenosaunee - culture. This philosophy guides us to consider the impact of our decisions on seven generations into the future—approximately 140 years. It's about meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
That's why each of our decisions is made considering the impact it could have on the seven generations to come. Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
Our commitment is clear: to design, produce, and distribute a sustainable wardrobe with the lowest possible impact on today's world and that of tomorrow.
By following this principle, every fabric we select, every action we take, carries with it the promise to create a 100% natural garment, plastic free, entirely recyclable and biodegradable, leaving no ecological footprint for at least the next seven generations to come.
The outdoor industry has built its success on the performance of synthetic fibers, both technical and financial. Polyester, being inexpensive, allows for comfortable profit margins. But except for exceptional challenges, who really needs the most technical, the highest performing gear? Remember Edmund Hillary reached the summit of Everest wearing a wool sweater.
Unlike synthetic fibers, wool and cotton are biodegradable, naturally disappearing in nature within a few weeks. Other artificial fibers like viscose or lyocell, derived from wood, possess this same quality.
Our approach, inspired by the Seven Generations Principle, therefore consists of designing durable clothes that can disappear without leaving a trace, rather than contributing to the 20 million tons of plastic waste that end up in the environment every year (IUCN 05/2024).
